Andie first fell in love with movement at a young age. Growing up, she was an avid dancer with experience in many dance styles including ballet, jazz, and modern dance. As her training became more vigorous, she was first introduced to yoga asana as a means of cross-training to balance out her other activities. After many years in the dance industry, Andie transitioned into the world of retail sales and returned to yoga as a way to stay connected to her body and the mindful movement it could provide. Realizing that retail was not in alignment with her passions, she left her career to pursue her yoga teacher training and became a full-time yoga instructor.
As a yogini with over 20 years of experience in the dance industry, Andie uses her knowledge of the body and breath as a practice in mindful meditation to offer beautiful flowing sequences of asana practice. After receiving her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certification in 2016, she went on to teach a wide range of demographics in the Vancouver area, and later transitioned into a mentorship role through leading yoga teacher trainings and managing instructors at local studios.
Andie believes in always being a student, and continues to study yoga with some of the industry’s most respected teachers, focusing on the benefits of meditation and Ayurveda. She has also completed her 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training certification and is a certified Ayurvedic Health Counsellor. Taking her yoga practice beyond the mat into all aspects of her life, Andie is also a practicing vegan who loves to experiment with new recipes that encompass her Ayurvedic and Yogic ideals to create healthful and tasty dishes.
When she’s not teaching, Andie likes to spend time relaxing with her long-time partner, their two sons, and beloved family cat.
